Agra, the city of Taj Mahal, attracts most of the tourists visiting India. Taj Mahal”s splendid beauty is absolutely captivating. Former US President Mr. Bill Clinton exclaimed that the world can be divided in two parts-those who have seen the Taj Mahal and those who have not. The city is dotted with many other historical monuments also, three of them in the World heritage list.

History:

Agra, being in close proximity to Mathura, is considered to be part of the Brijbhoomi associated with Lord Krishna’s birth and childhood. During Mahabharat, this area was known as Agraban. The City also has five old Shiva temples symbolizing its ancient culture.
